Local Scholarships:
Junior League of Orange County, California, Inc., (JLOCC)
Deadline: January 30th 2010
Award: $1000.00 to $5000.00
Eligibility:
” Currently a graduating high school senior or a post-secondary student
” High school or post-secondary grade point average of 2.5 or above
” Citizen or permanent resident of the United States
” Pending acceptance to a post-secondary institution (required for receipt of scholarship)
” If registering as a part-time student, proof of 20 or more hours of work per week
” Agreement to attend the JLOCC June 2010 meeting to accept award or send appropriate designee (parent, executive director of project/program, foster parent, etc.)
” Scholars should be willing to update the JLOCC about their experience by May 2011
” May not be an immediate relative of a JLOCC member (i.e. sibling, daughter, son)
” Scholars must use the funds awarded within one calendar year from the official award date

Toshiba Classic 2010 Scholarship Fund
Deadline: January 4th 2010
Award: Toshiba Laptop Computer and $10,000.00 at second level
Eligibility:
” Trabuco Hills High School Senior
” Ranked in the upper third of graduating class
” Demonstrate Financial need
” Be admitted to and attend a two or four year college/university in the summer or fall term of 2010
” Demonstrate leadership and/or involvement in extra-curricular activities and community service

General Scholarships (Regional or National):
2010 Prudential Spirit of Community Award
Deadline: November 2nd
Award: Certificate, medallion & competition on the state level where you could receive a trip to Washington DC and $1000.00 – $5000.00
Eligibility: Current High School Student in grades 9 – 12 who is a legal resident of the United States or District of Columbia. Student must have engaged in a volunteer activity that occurred at least in part after September 1, 2008.
